The Wood MonsterMan grip AK is built by Ironwood Designs and is made specifically for AK47 style rifles. The grip is unfinished and can be sanded, stained, or painted to match your existing stock. Since the MMG-AK Wood does not require an adapter, it provides a very solid attachment to your rifle. Since there are quite a few differences in the various AK stocks out there, you may have to trim this grip to get an optimal fit. Please take your time and trim a little at a time to ensure the best fit.
If you live in California and have an off-list lower receiver for an AK-47 style rifle, you can have a detachable magazine if you use a MonsterMan Grip. The MonsterMan Grip is the best tactical solution for your rifle. The MonsterMan Grip is not a "Pistol Grip" as defined by the CA-DOJ regulations.
The following definitions apply to terms used in the identification of assault weapons pursuant to Penal Code section 12276.1:
(d) "pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon" means a grip that allows for a pistol style grasp in which the web of the trigger hand (between the thumb and index finger) can be placed below the top exposed portion of the trigger while firing.
The MonsterMan Grip is not a "pistol grip", nor does it allow a "pistol style grasp".
