Derived from the fully automatic HK417 rifle, the MR762A1 employs HK's proprietary gas piston system using a pusher rod in place of direct-gas tube. This system eliminates common malfunctions found in direct impingement systems due to carbon fouling and waste gasses entering the receiver. The MR762A1 utilizes an HK cold hammer forged barrel to ensure long service life and superior performance without major degradation. 

The enhanced variation of the MR762A1 has been adopted by the US Army as the CSASS(Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System) and SDMR(Designated Marksman Rifle.

California Fixed Magazine Version will use a fixed 10-round magazine for California compliance. The magazine will not be readily removable and will require top-loading of the magazine.
