3 stars out of 5
My third Ronin in my collection. I just finished breaking in today. Shot six hundred rounds in three outings with the first four hundred rounds of Herter's 115 Grain Target Ammo and two hundred rounds of Winchester 9mm Luger 115 Grain JHP. I had two double feeds in the first two hundred rounds with cartridges stuck half in/half out. The pistol was cleaned and oiled before the first outing, and I cleaned and oiled it again before the second outing. Again I had two double feeds. In the last two hundred rounds, I did not clean the pistol and only oiled it before shooting. I experienced five double feeds. Could it be a weak extractor spring? Or a damaged or bent extraction claw? But it is a brand new pistol. I don't know what to make of it. The impact point is about 2 inches below the aim point at ten yards. Windage is good. I think the pistol could benefit from an adjustable rear sight, which I ordered one from Kensight. So far, this pistol is not very reliable. I'll check the extractor for damage in the next cleaning, maybe just weak spring. Oh, and Springfield Armory is being a real cheapskate for only including one magazine. Get only three stars for that. Supplement: Added more tension to the extractor, shot two hundred rounds, no more double feed. It was a weak extractor spring.
