5 stars out of 5
Updated 4.28.14. I had the Straight 8 Sights replaced with Novak, had the magwell replaced with Dawson Precsion solid 1 piece. The MFG's sights were off center, so the gun shot low and right. with the new sights and the proper setting, this is the most accurate 1911 I own. Only 1 single operating issue since I bought it out of 2,000 rounds. No FTF or FTE EVER! This is the 4th 1911 I've bought from RifleGear, and this is the one that I'm keeping at home. I do trust this guy with my life. This is the tightest 1911 frame you're likely to ever see. The frame / rails / slide are so tight, it doesn't look or feel like they could move. They do move very nicely however. So why 3 stars? Bought the gun from riflegear, picked it up Friday, 200 rounds each day. I had two bullets in the chamber at one time. Never seen this before and it scares the heck out of me. The second item is the grips. I know a lot of people love these operator 2 grips, but they rip your hand up if you shoot for more than 100 rounds... 80 grit sand paper would be a lot softer. The mag well is loose, sloppy and the screw is stripped. The straight eight sights are not squarely mounted, and if you've never used straight eight sights... Try to avoid them. Again, some people love them .... Just like the grips, but the sights should be mounted on the frame squarely. I've had the gun for three days, paid 1700 after taxes and dros, placed 600 rounds down range and wish I could return it for a refund. The gun is accurate, the frame is very nice, and everything fits like nothing I've ever seen. This was to be my elite 1911 in my collection, but there are too many issues to address to make the purchase price acceptable
