The LMT Shovelnose was designed for users who require additional room for mounting accessories when using LMT piston barrels. This upper also features a larger internal diameter to allow for installation and removal without removing M-LOK accessories. 

Using the patented monolithic rail platform(MRP) constructed from a single aluminum forging. The barrel is held in place by a proprietary locking system using 2 bolts accessible from the side of the receiver. Only a standard T-30 Torx wrench is required for installation and disassembly of the barrel.

The Shovelnose receiver is designed for 12" piston barrels or longer

LMT MRP barrel is required. A standard AR15 barrel is not compatible with this upper receiver.
